Piero Figura was born in 1956 in Brindisi, southern Italy. He graduated in Architecture in Rome and began his career as a designer in Milan where he also taught set design at the Faculty of Architecture. In the mid-1990s he began his successful collaboration with Athena who consecrated the name of Piero Figura with several successful collections with works for sale at Sothebys and Christies. About ten years ago, he began working with Gianni Seguso: a collaboration that led to two collections in Murano glass. He is an artist who best interprets the desire to mix things up, to not to conform to a predefined idea, trying instead to wander in different stylistic areas and carrying out passionate cultural research to give life to unique objects that oscillate between avant-garde and tradition. It's the Italian style.
