Wood inlay is the process of decorating the surface of wood by setting in pieces of material such as bone or wood in different colors. Several components are painstakingly assembled to fit exactly to the artisan's vision and then are glued into place. The design is finished with a coating to seal the pieces.
The artisan Sanchez hails from the city of Pasto in the southwestern part of Columbia.
